30 Days of Lists December // Mini-Book

January 9th, 2014

30 Days of Lists // December 2013 // Mini-Book

Last December I joined my second round of 30 Days of Lists. Here’s my result from the first one.

It’s taken me a while to get round to completing the mini-book I made for the second challenge, but now it’s finally done. One good thing about this style of journaling is that it’s quick and easy to write out the lists while the challenge is going on, however it takes a while at the end to look for, print and stick in the appropriate images. Totally worth it though :)

This second book is in pretty much exactly the same style as my gratitude book from October. I cut patterned paper into 10 x 10 cm squares, punched holes and bound the whole thing with two bookrings.

For the journaling  I cut paper into 1 cm high strips and just wrote out my answers on it, cut them up and glued them in. These are easy to prepare beforehand to speed up the process.

Finished up the cover with some thickers and the word December in marker, which I’m not crazy about, I’d probably do that different another time around.

Decorated the pages opposite the journaling with an (usually) appropriate photo and the prompts written out on washi tape. I’m not soooo pleased with the wider tape as it’s very dominant and I maybe didn’t choose the best tapes to go with the patterned paper, so I think I’ll try and solve that differently if I do this again.

Finished!

I have to say I’ve enjoyed both rounds of listing very much, but I’m also glad when each project is over and I can move on to new things.

Very nice. What kind of paper cutter do you use to get your pages into the 10cmx10cm squares? Can’t wait to see what your next project is!

      Thank you very much!

I have to say I’m pretty primitive there, I measure the pages out with a large set square and then just cut them to size with a cutter knife. I’ll have to invest in a proper paper cutting machine sometime :) Do you have any experience there?

I’m actually pretty excited to share my next project, it’s a pretty ambitious one :D The first post should be up around the end of next week!

Oooohhhh – can’t wait to see that post.

I had a paper cutter but it disappeared (happens a lot around here!) so I’m in the market for another. I can’t remember what kind we had, but I loved it!

          Oops, too bad :(

My room gets pretty chaotic and disorganised when I’m involved in a creative venture, I can totally relate :)
I’ve actually ended up buying packs of cutter blades twice because I couldn’t find the first lot I bought… then the first packet turned up xD

Thank you Jeanne! Did you participate in the Challenge too?

      • Jeanne

Yes. I did mine in a smash book. It’s such a fun project!

Cool :) Is it online anywhere? I love seeing what other people created <3

I like this format. Did you print all your pictures at home or are they cut out from magazines? Good job on finishing!!!

Thanks Vanessa! :) I printed all the photos at home, six on one A4 sheet, on slightly thicker and higher quality paper.

Thank you! Did you join the challenge? Have you shared your finished results somewhere? (I love seeing what other people have done!)

I shared it on my blog, but also on this board! Let me know what you think if you check it out.

Aw, they’re so pretty and creative :) Your layouts look so well put together, I’m not so good with collage, but yours are really lovely! How many rounds have you done so far? I remember you from the September group I think. This was my second go!
