Another catch up post on Moorea Seal’s 52 Lists. Only one to go, then I’ll be up to date on these
First tentative attempt at doing these list with the newest script I’ve been learning, the humanistic cursive. It’s a really beautiful script, but I find it very difficult to get right, as all the stems need to be parallel and have an even rhythm for it to look tidy and mine are kind of all over the place. I’ve gotten a lot better though I haven’t attempted capital letters yet, the last two scripts I learnt didn’t even have capital letters, and the capitals in this script are quite hard. So for this list I just stuck with the minuscules. Used some gorgeous new terracotta coloured Ecoline ink and gold ink for the decorations. (Calligraphy will make me poor at this rate, my teacher just keeps bringing gorgeous inks and other products to class. I’m a sucker for art materials…) Decorated the header and footer with some swirls. Not bad for a first attempt at this script I think.

52 Lists is a project by Moorea Seal. I have been using it since the beginning to practice my calligraphy skills. Here you can find all the lists I’ve done so far. If you’re interested in calligraphy inspiration, visit my Pinterest Calligraphy board.
