52 Lists – Week Nine – Calligraphy

March 6th, 2013

List the places you want to go

Japan // A Bookshop // Peru // China // Scotland // Tuscanny // New Zealand // Pioneers Festival // Africa // Tel Aviv // The Louvre // To See A Volcano // Venice // A Jungle // Florence // Spain // Cirque du Soleil // A new Karate Club // Australia // Art Supply Shopping // India // Prague // The Shire // Cornwall // Wales // A Bookbinding Workshop // Ireland // Old Castles // On Safari // Thailand // Iceland // A Fireworks Display // Everywhere

A lot of those aren’t places strictly speaking, but I added them anyway :) Several places I’ve been to and want to go again.

Added my version of the most recent list from Moorea Seal’s 52 Lists Challenge. I think maybe I’ll try and do the most recent one, and then work my way through the ones I’m still missing.

I’m currently using these lists as a fun little Calligraphy excercise to improve on my uncial, and really enjoying it :D

Going to class in a minute, looking forward to it :)

I spend way too little time at the moment on personal creative work, as I’m currently setting up as a freelance graphics designer and my time just seems to get eaten up. It’s nice to have a “creative date” once a week with myself at least to survive the dry spells :)

I desperately want to change the design of this blog too, it’s still only a standard wordpress template and I really want to make it more personal…

52 Lists is a project by Moorea Seal. I have been using it since the beginning to practice my calligraphy skills. Here you can find all the lists I’ve done so far. If you’re interested in calligraphy inspiration, visit my Pinterest Calligraphy board.

I really love that you’re adding the calligraphy aspect to Moorea’s lists! Such a cool idea.

Thank you very much :) I really wanted to do the lists when I saw them and because I’m trying to regularly practice my calligraphy I thought this’d be a great way to make the practice more interesting! I’m glad you like the idea!

I would love to go to a book binding workshop! Thank you for the compliment on my blog design… it’s fun playing with the design, make a bit of time FFion! Imagine a header written in your beautiful calligraphy :)

I’ve actually already been to one bookbinding workshop, and it was so great I’d like to go to another, to learn some new techniques. I can only recommend it. :) Bookbinding was a great experience, and I hope I find the time and money to explore that area further. :) I love books as an object and being able to make my own notebooks or sketchbooks has been a long-standing dream of mine.

Yeah, webdesign in general is good fun, and I really really want to redesign Mindflight but am having a bit of a hard time fitting in the time. I’m currently working on getting my Graphics Design Business Site up and running, and then I have client work to do as well. But I’m sure I’ll get round to it at some stage… I’ll just have to make the time somewhere :)

I hadn’t thought of using my calligraphy in my blog design… that’s a nice idea actually, maybe I’ll give that a try :D
