52 Lists // Week 13 // Calligraphy

New List from Moorea Seal‘s 52 Lists. This time I seperated the elements through little circles of black ink which I added little dots of white ink to. I also added stylised flowers to the header. I’m quite pleased with the result. Simple, yet effective :)

This week’s list was things you want to make… I’m very behind on the creating front recently, as stated on this blog previously, I’m struggling with my own creative work at the moment. At least I’ve been able to have some creative fun on client work as a graphics and webdesigner :) Not sure how the freelance path is going to work out, but I’m enjoying it very much so far, even though the uncertainty gets overwhelming occasionally.

52 Lists // Week 13 // Calligraphy52 Lists is a project by Moorea Seal. I have been using it since the beginning to practice my calligraphy skills. Here you can find all the lists I’ve done so far. If you’re interested in calligraphy inspiration, visit my Pinterest Calligraphy board.

I love your calligraphy! I have no patience to make my writing look skilled and am thus always jealous of those who do :P all of these sound like lovely things to make and I wish you much success :)

Hi Tatiana, thank you for your lovely comment :) I had a great calligraphy course at university for half a year and recently started a local half-year adult evening class. Then I discovered Moorea’s lists and found them a wonderful way to practice my writing without being too uptight and perfectionistic about it. I think it’s important to keep the practice fun and a little playful, normally I find practicing the individual letters and words can get a little boring and I get too hung up on little mistakes which are barely noticeable when you do something like this :) I also enjoy writing letters to friends and am thinking about including a calligraphic quote or writing parts of the letter with calligraphy, so I actually keep using the skills.

      Thank you so much!

Aw, thank you so very much Laura :D No, it was all written by hand, and it’s so much fun :) Calligraphy is a wonderful hobby, I’m so glad I started taking courses again and found these lists to practice on!

Don’t be jealous, your lists are cute and creative too :D

Thank you for your wonderful comment!
